Sales and New Product Development
Does ELG Carbon Fibre make bespoke products or standard products?
Standard products form the staple of our production base. We can produce some bespoke products or variants of staple products lines if the volumes are right. We are a mass producer of raw CF composite materials.
What industries do you serve?
ELG CF serves both the mainstream composites markets(thermosetting plastics) and the thermoplastics markets. We have long and short fibres for use in all composite industries. We also have cross sector products that serve Automotive, Marine, Aero and Industrial customers.
How do I get my scrap collected?
If you require scrap collection services, please contact the Feedstock Department, who will advise accordingly. Please see here for details.
How much does the service cost?
The scrap collection service is very cost effective. Please detail your current scrap arrangements and volumes to the feedstock department, who will be able to offer a suitable arrangement and cost indication to you. We can do this via email or over the phone.
How do you protect sensitive materials and components?
We offer a certificate of destruction once we have weighed and booked your scrap, then we process the materials ready for the furnace, this involves size reduction equipment. The resultant material is reduced in size so it will fit into the furnace. Thus forever destroying sensitive IP and components.
What is pyrolysis?
Thermal decomposition of materials in an inert atmosphere.
What effect does the thermal process have on the material?
ELG Carbon Fibre have a patented process, the material is largely unaffected by the process. The reclaimed fibre experiences brief oxidisation at the beginning of the process thus we see a drop in tensile strength of about 10%. Stiffness characteristics are unchanged.
